A Dual CS503-3 turntable came in for repair as it was putting a lot of hum on the output.
If you have a record turntable or old hifi that needs repairing please contact me for a quote.
The hum was caused by very intermittent connections in the phono cables causing earthing issues. One of the cables also had high resistance in the signal wire.
The thin wires that connect the cartridge to the connection board under the turntable were checked and found to be OK.
A new set of phono cables sorted out the hum. I also replaced the old mains lead as requested.
Finally the tone arm stylus tracking weight and cartridge alignment were checked.
