This turntable was causing speaker hum due to faulty connecting and earth cables which I replaced. This required removal of the platter as the connecting strip is under it rather than under the chassis which is more common.
A suppression capacitor fitted across the mains switch had a huge crack in it along with looking decidedly burnt.
I replaced it with a modern X2 approved capacitor obtained from a reputable western component supplier.
The tone arm V-blocks were checked along with setting the cartridge alignment and tracking weight.
I’ve put a short video of the repair on my YouTube channel. Please subscribe etc to be alerted to new videos.
